At a bus stop, a private school girl and an apprentice fork-lift driver form an unlikely connection. When Tess chooses to hole up in her room instead of celebrate at El Jannah, her friends decide it's time to stage a surprise birthday exorcism. And as two sisters argue over Mum's plates that look like bowls (but are flat enough to be plates), they start to feel out a tentative path through their loss.
